A Primary Audience is an audience which is targeted by media. For example, a game such as The Sims 4 is targeted for people who are 12 and over, but a game such as Call Of Duty (COD) would be aimed at people aged 18 and over. Games are usually targeted at BOTH genders who can play the game, but in many cases, The Sims 4 is more popular to females and Call Of Duty (COD) is more popular with males.
definition: secondary audience
A Secondary Audience are the people that have the influence on a Primary Audience such as children, spouses (married to), associates (work colleague), friends and neighbors. These people aren’t Primary because they haven’t been targeted to a particular game BUT they do like to interact with the game (even though they don’t fit into the category.
An example of a Secondary Audience is Playing Call Of Duty (COD) which are 16-18 (depending on what COD you are playing). If you are under-aged but you play COD you are then a Secondary Audience.
