Experimentation
I intend to create a detailed story including characters, story, and lore based in the Medieval times with a fantasy twist to it in a style of a journal as if someone in that time was writing about the events that took place in their current time.
I will be making the booklet using plain A4 paper and I will style it so that the booklet looks older. I will write a story and I will draw concept art within the booklet so that i have created a physical product that people can interact with which will make people more interested in any games I become involved with developing and it will interest others to want to read other stories and learn about other games i have been involved with developing.
I will try out different ways to draw sketches for concept art so that I can decide which style I prefer. I will try out different styles such as realistic and cartoon etc. i will also be creating a portfolio to show off my work and to show how I've experimented with different styles and ideas which I have developed and perfected.
I started off with creating the booklet. I folded a few A4 pages in half and then stapled it together so it didn't fall apart. I then decided to make and add a clasp to the book as I wanted to keep the booklet secure and I also wanted to add more detail to my work.

I decided that I wanted to test out a few different styles to see if I could make the book look more unique. I tried making the front look frilly and I tried adding a bow separately to the front cover too, but I didn't think that these styles were very suitable for my design as I believe they ruin the aesthetic that I am going for.

After that, I decided to add a pouch to the back of the book so that I could use it as decoration and I made sure it was usable too to make it more realistic. I found a video of YouTube which was a tutorial on how to make one.
After I created this, I wanted to try and experiment to see if I could add a clasp to the book pocket for extra 'security'. I wanted to add this as I believe that it would make my book look more realistic and it would be useful for if I decided to add anything to the book that could make it look more personal.

I used the remaining part of paper that I had from when I created the book pocket and I made the clasp. The images below show a bird's eye view and a side view of the results.

Now that the main part of the book was fully completed, I decided to start making it look old. I used already used tea bags to make the paper look older and I used matches to burn parts of the book to make it look like it hadn't been maintained very well. I also shudged parts of each page with the used match sticks to make the book look dirty.

I created a basic storyline so that I could get a rough idea of how the story will be and how it will progress. After that, I decided to start writing my story. I decided to write a few paragraphs of a descriptive short story as I wanted to show how capable I am when it comes to writing a sory.

After I had written a basic storyline and a descriptive short story, I decided to add a basic script that matched the descriptive short story as that would be important for audio to focus on if this was to develop into a game.
