artist influences
Today I started to find examples of products to help inspire me for my game so that I had a similar palate/content that I could compare to my game.
i came across an artist called rob shields who creates a lot of cyberpunk themed art. i took an interest in his work and decided to look through his website to see what i could find!

i decided to look on youtube and i came across rob shield's youtube channel. he has videos showing his animations and he's even promoting his new game 'neon wasteland'. i watched both of these videos as they are trailers for his game and i though that they were very interesting. I also found out that his game is actually an interactive animation comic book.
update (12/11/18): i got a notification on youtube yesterday from Rob Shield's youtube channel game as the most recent video came out yesterday. it explains in a bit more information about the game itself. I'll put the video below so that you can watch.
i love rob shields designs in general! the bright, neon, cyberpunk, cartoon-style designs and his imagination with his futuristic designs are crazy. i could tell that he's had inspiration from 'back to the future' as in that film they drive a delorean which i saw an animated version being driven around in some of the videos.
conclusion
i will use all of the information i have learned about rob shield's game and i will consider using his designs as inspiration for my level design as he has made a lot of detailed environments in his illustrations. i will also consider making games in the future that involve augmented reality as i find the concept really interesting and i think that creating a game that involves that will benefit players as they will feel like they have so much more interaction with a game.
